Welcome to The Millstone Quarry, the biggest
millstone quarry in Sweden,
since June 6,
2004 the first reserve of culture in Dalecarlia!

A 1,7 km long millstone quarry, dating back to the 9th
century

For hundreds of years, men have been working
in the quarry to cut the very important millstones for their own
vital use and for sale all over the country.
A very hard and sometimes dangerous work.

A walk through the quarry is highly
recommended. Besides the imposing traces from centuries of work you
will also have an opportunity to enjoy the nature with trees,
bushes, flowers, birds and perhaps even the bigger wild animals.
